Oh, yes I did. I bought a new-to-me chair for my studio. Until yesterday, I’d been using a super comfy but super ugly chair (I’d found it on the street). Looking at it had become painful of late, so I started perusing craigslist in search of a comfortable, good-looking, but visually light chair. And I somehow ended up with this Bertoia knockoff. And it somehow works with the rest of the room, even though it’s not what I had ever imagined in this corner.
Going through my head as I was driving to look at it was “I can’t believe you’re buying a chair. You’re usually so frugal. You don’t have a job, you’re trying to start a business. Why are you spending money?” Yet once I got it home, I knew – I felt – that I had made the right decision. I feel lighter just looking at it.
It’s important for me to remember that it’s okay to splurge every once in a while.
