Ah, summer. Fluffy, lacy, showy pink flowers abound. I indulge my floral cravings for very little money and get such abundant display in return.
A flower arrangement, not some foodie dish. I thought it would be a good idea to buy a bunch of peonies before their season ended. And I couldn’t resist the kale. The arrangement looks bright and perky on this melancholy, humid, drizzly day.
I love these alien-looking flowers. I’ve never seen them growing, so I imagine them walking off a spaceship into the desert. But since I got them at the farmers’ market, where everything comes from within 100 miles or so of San Francisco, they’re probably very terrestrial.
