It’s fitting that this is the first new print I’ve done since quitting my full-time job. For over a year, this sentence (affirmation?) has been swirling around in my brain. It never materialized into an actual illustration – at least not one that I was happy about – until this week.
The style is a new direction for me. I still want to tweak the print a bit more to make the balloon edges rounder and the text crisper – but I think it’s a pretty good start. If all goes well, I’ll have a limited number of these in my shop next week. Yes, I’m doing limited editions now. Going forward, all my new prints will only be available in limited runs of 50-100.
I’m working on some new illustrations this week. I’ve come back around to working on illustrations for license – something that I did over six years ago, and then again for Small Square Design three years ago.
Weeks like this, when everything falls into place, make me so glad that I took a risk and decided to pursue my (ever-changing, slightly nebulous) dreams.
