I reprinted my Doors of Paris tea towel on a different linen (which has also allowed me to lower the price a bit). And because the fabric color was slightly darker, I had to change the colors a little bit. Can I say that I love this towel even more than the original? Well, I do.
There’s something so pleasing about making these – from the cutting of the linen, to the printing, to the pressing and the pinning, to the sewing. I used to dread all the little steps that go into sewing each piece, but now I’ve given in and learned to take my time and enjoy the process. Nothing rushed, lots gained.
Revamped tea towel is available here.
these are beautiful! i think i found you on the renegade craft site a while ago and have failed to leave a comment for you. anyway, your work is beautiful. i made my first set of tea towels a couple of months ago and was at the point of dreading each step. hopefully i’ll begin to enjoy it like you do!
Thanks so much, Leah! It has taken me almost eight months to become comfortable printing on large pieces of fabric. I’ve made many, many mistakes. Thankfully, I have family and friends who are happy to relieve me of my “mistakes.” Keep at it – and please let me know how they turn out.
