Shop signs

Good, unique signs delight me. It’s obvious that someone took great care to craft these handmade signs:

This was hand-drawn with chalk. It’s a little smudged from probably being moved around so much, but that just adds to its charm.

Nice, simple logotype. The “Open” sign in the bottom right corner is hand lettered.

If you look hard enough, you might be able to see the calliagrapher’s faint pencil guide lines. This barbershop is very old school and beautifully maintained. An old piano (or organ?) sits at one end of the shop. I always wonders who plays it – and when – but I haven’t been brave enough to go inside and ask.
