The Bandshell is one of my favorite areas in Golden Gate Park. Elderly Chinese-Americans practice tai chi in the morning, teenagers perform clumsy skateboard moves on the stairs, and swing dancers meet to practice their moves during Sunday “Lindy in the Park.” Yesterday, a few kids decided to add their own chalk art to the sidewalk:
The Bandshell itself has a lot of tiny little details and textures. I love the iron (or copper?) work, the textures of the walls, and the cracks in the steps.
Finally, I saw this little guy on my walk home – I was glad Jake wasn’t with me because he probably would have burrowed under the ground in an attempt to have a gopher feast. It’s not the best photo, but gophers tend to be rather camera-shy:
